What is our experience as investing professionals?

The firm was founded over 50 years ago and has always been family owned. Our coaching skills were really tested in 2008. Our message to remain disciplined and not to panic did not deviate but was reinforced for our clients. When markets drop that is when the greatest transfer of wealth can happen as people destroy their portfolios by panicking, you need a coach to stand up for you in these times. This is our vow to you.

The portfolios SmartPlan offers undergo a rigorous audit to comply with GIPS (Global Investment Performance Standard). The standard is to help investors compare apples to apples and provide not only what the funds returns have been but what investors actually receive. Some portfolios started in 1992, but the audited returns go back to 1993 when each of the core portfolios were in existence. In 2008, the funds were repackaged in to funds of funds lowering costs and making them more efficient. Our fee is slightly lower than some other advisors using these funds, so our client may show a higher return than that is represented on this chart.

SmartPlan’s investment portfolios are globally diversified across 21 asset classes, 45 countries, and 16,000 + unique holdings. There is risk associated with any investment. SmartPlan’s investment portfolio’s are structured and engineered to fall on the Efficient Frontier. Rebalancing helps to keep risk at the desired level while optimizing the return associated with a given level of risk.

SmartPlan has follows three rules to investing:

We coach because markets will drop and coaching helps our clients to remain disciplined and patient.

Both traits are needed over the long term to build wealth. Our coaching and investment philosophy is what sets us apart from an active management style. Our goal is to capture the returns of world markets and have a life long successful investing experience.
