Making your vision concrete – documentary
This documentary is a product idea for those who work for themselves, entrepreneurs, and those who run a small business. It is intended to illuminate what it takes to bring an idea to market. To illustrate the process, we will showcase the development of a product called StoryWill.
Robroy Wiley, creator, advisor and financial communicator at SmartPlan financial services.
Hi I'm Robroy Wiley, advisor and financial communicator. StoryWill is a product that is personalized and shares the experiences, milestones, and thoughts on how a family built their wealth. It is produced in a leather bound book with 7 chapters that family members can pass on.
For example, this documentary of the development of StoryWill is going to be apart of my family's StoryWill. Which I am creating for my family's next generation of entrepreneurs.
The first step of making your vision concrete is getting the idea out of your head. When I talk to people about their businesses, they often tell me they " have it all in their heads".
They also describe that they have not yet been able to get their businesses where they want them to be.
In order to make things a reality, or concrete, in the "real world" we need to first make a concrete representation of it.
So how do you make your vision concrete?
We will use an entrepreneurial mapping tool.
A map that is visual, incorporates the numbers, and can provide guidance to help with financial business decisions. The goal is to create a sustainable business model.
To be successful, any business concept must solve a problem and fill a need in the marketplace. To create a concrete representation of the business idea we must first write out the problem in detail.
We need to write down the problem that the idea will solve in the marketplace. And that starts putting the idea into a concrete form.
StoryWill gives family members the opportunity to share their history and story. StoryWill gives the next generation a map with guideposts on how to continue the family legacy.
