Gene Hall was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1928, and had been in the financial services business for over 50 years.
His degrees include Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College. In 1984, Gene Hall was admitted to the Registry of Financial Planning Practitioners and received his Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
In 1968, he formed Financial Planning Counselors, Inc., offering a fee-based consultation service for families and small business under the laws of Michigan as a Life Insurance Counselor. Gene was a pioneer providing written financial plans on a fee basis for families and business many years before there were financial planning textbooks or educational courses.
Financial Planning Courses, Inc. is a Registered Investment Advisor and has offices in Cumming, Georgia, and Jupiter, Florida. Financial Planning counselors, Inc. was a pioneer ahead of the curve, combining life insurance with stocks and bond investments for both families and small businesses.
In 1994, Gene’s firm, Financial Planning Counselors, Inc., became an advisor with Matrix Asset Allocation, Inc. Gene became a coach for his clients and began converting all of his clients’ security portfolios over to the Modern Portfolio Theory with Matrix, a division of Abundance Technologies, Inc.
Gene sadly passed away in 2011; however, his legacy continues. Today Financial Planning Counselors, Inc. is known as SmartPlan Investing with offices in Atlanta, Georgia and Jupiter, Florida which offers fee only portfolios still using Modern Portfolio Theory through Matson Money, formerly known as Matrix.
